HORICON, Wis. - There is no better place to enjoy the Halloween season than at Horicon Marsh. Join Department of Natural Resources staff Saturday, Oct. 29, from 7-9 p.m. at Horicon Marsh to learn all about creatures of the night in the spook-tacular "Haunted Explorium."

The Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center's new exhibit, the Explorium, will transform into a family-friendly haunted experience just in time for Halloween. Attendees will startle their senses as they touch the slime, see the spiders and learn what lurks in the shadows of the marsh night. And remember, participants who wear a costume will receive a prize.

Department staff will be on site to help create creepy crafts and lead nighttime activities related to things that go bump in the night.

While admission is free, a $2 donation per person is appreciated. A bewitching bake sale will also be held, with proceeds helping to support the Horicon Friends group and future programs at Horicon Marsh.

Haunted Explorium tours will leave every 5 minutes. Please sign up for a tour time when you enter the building.

The Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center is located between Horicon and Mayville on Highway 28. For a detailed list of all Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center special events, please visit the Friends of Horicon Marsh website, (exit DNR) or call 920-387-7893.
