CWD sampling plan in place for Adams, Juneau, Portage and Marathon counties for 2016-17...

    WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. - In cooperation with local businesses, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources staff are collecting deer heads for chronic wasting disease surveillance testing within Adams, Juneau, Portage and Marathon counties during the 2016 archery and gun hunting seasons.

    If you harvest an adult deer within these counties, please consider submitting a sample from any harvested adult deer for CWD testing.

    Head samples can be dropped off at the following locations:

    • Roche-A-Cri Bowman - 2021 14th Drive, Friendship (608-339-6460);

    • Buena Vista DNR Field Station - 8310 Cty Road F, Bancroft (24-hour self-serve kiosk);
    • Wisconsin Rapids DNR Service Center - 473 Griffith Ave Wisconsin Rapids (24-hour self-serve kiosk);
    • Adams-Friendship DNR Ranger Station - 532 North Main St., Adams (24-hour self-serve kiosk);
    • Mead Wildlife Area - S2148 Cty Road S, Milladore (24-hour self-serve kiosk); and
    • Plover DNR Ranger Station - 2510 Maple Dr., Plover (24-hour self-serve kiosk).

    In addition, lymph node samples can be taken at the following locations:

    Wisconsin's citizens and cooperators have played a key role in CWD sampling efforts in Wisconsin, and department staff would like to thank all participants and collection cooperators for their continued efforts.
