Department of Natural Resources announces drawdown of the Sheboygan Girl Scouts Camp Evelyn Dam

    SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, Wis- The controlled drawdown of the Sheboygan Girl Scouts Camp Evelyn Dam has begun and is expected to remain drawn down indefinitely, according to the Department of Natural Resources.

    The drawdown will be conducted for the removal of the dam. The dam consists of an earthen embankment and a bridge with an attached spillway.The water level behind the dam will be lowered at a rate of approximately 6 inches per day until the water level has been lowered approximately 6 feet, to facilitate the removal of the concrete spillway of the dam.

    The dam is owned by the Sheboygan Girl Scouts of Manitou Council and is located on the Mullet River.
