DNR to discuss potential open-water duck hunting on Shawano Lake

    SHAWANO, Wis. -- On Friday, September 10, at 7:00 p.m. the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will be holding an informational meeting on the potential for open water duck hunting on Shawano Lake.

    The meeting will be held at the Shawano County Park indoor pavilion, Shawano County Park W5785 Lake Dr., Shawano.

    Department staff will present background information on a citizen generated proposal to expand duck hunting in the open water areas of large lakes in Wisconsin. Shawano Lake has been recommended by these citizens to the DNR. Following the background presentation, Department staff will be holding a discussion session to solicit input from local citizens.
