Get Outdoors Club holding walks through April and May in Northern Kettle Moraine

    CAMPBELLSPORT, Wis. - People looking to get outdoors and enjoy the camaraderie of spending time with other people are invited to join the Kettle Moraine State Forest - Northern Unit's Get Outdoors Club for a series of walks throughout April and May.

    The Get Outdoors Club in an informal group of people who come together on Wednesdays from April through September to enjoy an hour or two of outdoor recreation from hiking to biking and paddling. There are no membership requirements or fees, but many locations for activities will require a Wisconsin State Park System vehicle admission sticker.

    Below are the dates and locations for the April and May adventures. In the event of severe weather, the activity will be canceled for that day.

    April 8, 6:30 p.m.

    • Walking 1.5 miles on the Ice Age Trail between Mauthe Lake and County Road GGG. Meet at the Entrance Station at the Mauthe Lake Recreation Area located off County Road GGG south of County Road SS near New Prospect

    April 15, 7 a.m. and April 22, 6:30 p.m.

    • Walking the 1.8-mile Green Loop or 3-mile Red Loop at the Zillmer Trails. Meet at the Zillmer shelter off County Road SS between County Road G and Hwy 67 near New Prospect.

    May 6, 7 a.m. and May 13, 6:30 p.m.

    • Walking the 3.1-mile Butler Lake Trail. Located off of Butler Lake Road east of Division Road near Dundee.

    May 20, 7 a.m. and May 27, 6:30 p.m.

    • Hiking 2 miles on the Ice Age Trail between County Road P and County Road S. Meet at County Road P Ice Age Trail Parking Lot south of Glenbeulah.
