GRANTSBURG, Wis. - Head to Crex Meadows Wildlife Area this spring for a number of fun events, including a night with Wisconsin's bats and a maple tree workshop.

    • A Night with Wisconsin's Bats, April 8, 6-7 p.m. - Wisconsin has only seven species of bats, but they each play and important role within the landscape. Snacks and beverages will be provided. This event is for those ages 12 and above - pre-registration is required.
    • Maple Tree Workshop, April 9, 1-3 p.m. - Celebrate the start of spring with the annual tapping of Sugar Maple Trees at Crex. A maple syrup program will demonstrate the process of making syrup - attendees will learn how maple trees are tapped and will receive a sample of pure maple syrup and other treats. Caravan as a group offsite. This event is for those ages eight and above. Pre-registration is required, and space will be limited to 25 participants.
