POYNETTE, Wis. - This year's Haunted Hayride at the MacKenzie Center in Poynette, Wis., scheduled for Oct. 30 and 31 from 6:30-9:30 p.m., has been cancelled.

"This cancellation is not due to lack of interest, we just did not have enough adult volunteers to ensure a safe event," said MacKenzie Center Director JD Smith. "We are very grateful for the continued support and volunteers who lend a hand at these events."

The Haunted Hayride has been a popular event over the past several years, with over 2,000 attendees in 2014. Each year, over 50 adult volunteers are required.

"The hay ride has been a fun, family-friendly event for Poynette and surrounding communities, and we are optimistic that this event will return next October," said Friends of the MacKenzie Center Vice President Steve Seigler.
