LAKE DELTON, Wis. - A timely snowfall will allow Mirror Lake State Park to welcome in the New Year with a torch-lit ski and snowshoe hike on Jan. 2, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Visitors will be able to ski a groomed cross-country trail or snowshoe on a separate trail. People will be allowed to hike on the snowshoe trail, but hiking may be difficult if the snow is not solidly packed down. Both trails will begin at the Winter Recreation Area (beach/picnic area).

The only cost for this fun filled family event is a daily or annual park sticker, which may be purchased upon entry to the park.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of Blue Mound State Park, who will have the bonfires roaring and hot cocoa to keep visitors warm.

Contact Mirror Lake State Park for updated trail and event information at 608-254-2333. The next candlelight event at Mirror Lake State Park is scheduled for Feb. 6, 2016.
