Mississippi Valley Conservancy Seeking Stewardship Grant for Project in Onalaska

    ONALASKA – Mississippi Valley Conservancy (MVC) has applied for a 50 percent matching grant from the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program to help with buying 30.78 acres of land in the City of Onalaska in La Crosse County. MVC will provide match to the grant award.

    The property will be left in its natural state and open to the public for low impact recreational activities including bow-hunting for deer, hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, bird watching and nature appreciation.

    In accordance with s. NR 52.04 (2) (b), Wis. Adm. Code, objections about the prohibited activities on this property must show that the proposed prohibition is consistent with s. 23.0916 (2) (b), Stats., and s. NR 52.05, Wis. Adm. Code.
