    MADISON - The Regional and Property Analysis for the Southeast Region Planning Group is now available for public review and comment through April 18, 2016.

    For more information and to submit comments, visit, search keywords "master planning," and select "Southeast Region Planning Group."

    The Southeast Region Planning Group includes nine large properties and numerous scattered parcels totaling roughly 20,450 acres of State Wildlife Areas, Fisheries Areas, Natural Areas, and Ice Age Trail properties. These properties lie mostly within Waukesha, Walworth, Racine and Kenosha counties, with additional portions in Rock, Jefferson and Dodge counties.

    Diverse opportunities for nature based recreation in the wetlands, grasslands, forests and waters are available on these properties. Some of the larger properties in this planning group include Vernon Wildlife Area, Big Muskego Wildlife Area, Tichigan Wildlife Area, New Munster Wildlife Area and Turtle Creek Wildlife Area.

    Two open sessions will be held at the following locations:

    • ThursdayMarch 24, 5-7 p.m. - Village ofMukwonago Municipal Building (lower level Community Room), 440 River CrestCourt, Mukwonago; and
    • Thursday,March 31, 5-7 p.m. - Bong Recreation Area, Molinaro VisitorCenter Public Meeting Room, 26313 Burlington Road, Kansasville.

    Department of Natural Resources staff from the Wildlife Management, Fisheries Management, Natural Heritage Conservation, and Parks and Recreation programs will be present to answer questions and share information regarding these properties.

    Copies of the Regional and Property Analysis are available for viewing during public hours at the Lee Sherman Dreyfus State Office Building, Bong Recreation Area, State Natural Resources Building and the following public libraries::

    � Community Library (Twin Lakes), 110 S Lake Ave., Twin Lakes;

    � Lake Geneva Public Library, 918 W Main St., Lake Geneva; and

    � Aram Public Library, 404 E Walworth Ave., Delavan.
